Black Jack B17 Flying Fortress
Blackjack, a B17 Flying Fortress is possibly the most famous bomber in the South West Pacific theatre of operations. Ditched whilst returning from a raid on Rabaul, she now lies in 50 meters of water off Boga Boga village in the Milne Bay province of Papua New Guinea.
Red Sea October 2011
Packing for any trip gives me a headache, but packing for a dive trip is even worse...How was I going to fit all my dive kit, my clothes, all the suntan creams, bottles and jars I wanted to take? And all into my 20kg baggage allowance. Excited I packed my wreck worn Cressi Frog Fins and shiny new Sunto Dive Computer and after what felt like hours,(it was only 35minutes) I was ready to go.
Windermere Sunday 15th January 2012
Yet again another very successful trip to Windermere, this time it was a bit cold but very clear. The air temperature did not get above 4.0ºC with the water temperature at a cool 2.0ºC. With everyone well wrapped up and insulated against the cold it was bearable. We had a different team consisting of Warren, Steve, Alan W, and Matt; this was to be Matt’s first boat dive.

Eccleston Delph January 2012
It’s been some time since I last went to Eccleston Delph so it was quite a surprise to see some of the latest improvements over the last year. I joined up with our “Friday Divers” who dive the Delph every Friday on a fortnightly basis depending on the weather. The depending on the weather bit is probably a reflection of the average age of the “Friday Divers” and that includes me.
